Glaucoma is a disease of the eye that affects almost 3 million persons in the United States and is the third leading cause of blindness overall. This course will familiarize the learner with the anatomy and physiology of glaucoma, different types of glaucoma, diagnosis, interventions and prognosis of glaucoma. Understanding how to assess and treat glaucoma is very important since the blindness that occurs with untreated glaucoma is almost always preventable if recognized and treated early.
